Create the Transfer File for the Monthly Download

 

1.   Bring up PCS directory

2.   Type:  PCSMENU

3.   Take option to "Transfer Data"

4.   Take option 1 to "Transfer data from host system to PC

5.   Press F10 and enter on the "Create" pull down menu selection

6.   Option 1 - "Create a transfer request"

7.   This will bring you into the "Create an AS/400 System-to-PC Transfer Request".  Fill in the screen as follows.   If  there are entries not listed below, leave them as they are by default.  Use the space bar to move the arrow when selecting an entry:

System Name = the "Local Control Point Name" on your AS/400 on the DSPNETA screen

(should default in)

From =  AS/400 MAC-PAC Data Library name(AADAT80)/Filename(FF110M)

Output device =  3. Disk

To =  C:\PC Directory name( FOCUS)\PC filename (FF110M.TXT)

Replace = Yes

Note:    Use the directory name you restored your PC diskette into when indicating the PC path.

8.   Press "Enter" to hold your entries

9.   F10 and select "SAVE"

10.  Option 1 to "Save the current TFR request"

11.  Name the Request:  C:\Directory name (FOCUS)\FF110M

Note:    The System will automatically update the above request name to FF110M.TTO.

12.  Select:      Replace =  1. Yes

13.  Type in Description:  "Transfer FF110M from MAC-PAC to PC"

14.  Press "Enter".   You should receive the message "Your transfer request has been successfully saved"

15.  ESC (Escape)

16.  Option 1 - Exit Transfer function

17.  ESC (Escape)

18.  Option 1 - Exit PC Support/400 menu

This procedure will create a transfer request file called FF110M.TTO which will be used by the monthly download process (DWNTOFOC.BAT) to download the Forecasting Interface download file FF110M from the MAC-PAC data library to the directory name you indicated in your "To" path above.  At the time the DWNTOFOC command is run a text file called FF110M.txt and a file description file named FF110M.fdf will also be created.
