Bar Coded Labels
Electronic Data Collection allows you to print various bar coded labels, provided you have access to a printer which prints bar codes. All bar codes printed by the MAC-PAC system use Code 39, because of its applicability to the manufacturing environment. Other codes can be used, with minor adjustments to the software. Reference File category C58, Bar Coded Label Options, determines which of these bar coded labels are available on your system.
You can request the following MAC-PAC information to be printed in bar code format:
· Employee Numbers - Printed in badge format from the Employee Master File.
· Adjustment Codes - Printed from the Reference File. Only codes that have a positive or negative effect on inventory are printed.
· Scrap Codes - Printed from the Reference File.
· Indirect Hours Codes - Printed from the Reference File.
· Machine Numbers - Printed from the Machine Master File.
· Location Numbers - Printed from the Location Validation File.
· Part Information - The parent parts are obtained from the Routing File.
· Component Information - The component parts are obtained from the Product Structure - Where Used File.
· Miscellaneous Employee Numbers - Miscellaneous employee numbers may be entered by you in the Miscellaneous Employee Maintenance Program. These numbers are stored in a hold file, separate from the Employee Master File.
