This conversation allows you to define the components that are used to manufacture a given product. The screen is used to select a maintenance function for defining the product structure.
This screen is displayed in two modes: in standard input mode when the report request is called from the application menu and in display only mode when called from the transaction review option. When in display only mode, you may only delete the request.
PLANT

The plant must be valid, and you must be authorized to the manufacturing company/warehouse associated with the plant (Reference File Category 409). Defaults to the plant assigned to your user ID, but may be changed by pressing F17.
PART NUMBER - PARENT
The part number for which the product structure is to be defined. The part must be a manufactured, planning, or build-thru part.
PRODUCT STRUCTURE SEQUENCE NUMBER
The sequence number is an identifier that allows components to be grouped logically. When displayed, the components will be sequenced by the product structure sequence number.
PART NUMBER - COMPONENT
Required. Enter the part number that is used as a component of the parent part. Must be an existing, active part that has a part type of Purchased (1), Manufactured (2), Raw Material (3), Reference (5), or Build-Thru (6). May be a Reference part only if the structure is a reference structure (Reference Code - P/S = 'R').
MAINTENANCE CODE
The maintenance code allows you to select the function you wish to perform for the parent part.
Option 1 allows you to add a component to the bill of material of a part.
Option 2 allows you to change a component/parent relationship.
Option 3 allows you to create a new bill of material by copying the bill of material from one part to another.
Option 4 allows you to remove a single component from a bill of material, and Option 5 allows you to remove all components from a bill of material.
