MPW2396 Forecast and target inventory are not included
This screen displays any requirements (demand), orders/requisitions (supply), and flow authorizations (supply) for a specified part that fall within the planning horizon. The upper part of the screen shows the key planning information of the item. The literal in the top right hand corner shows whether or not there have been any changes since RP ran and determines if the part needs to be replanned or reanalyzed.
If the Plant field on the Function Select screen was left blank, then the supply and demand will be shown for the part across all plants. Also, only the part number, part description, and part unit of measure will be displayed on the upper portion of the screen.
Depending on the option entered in the RP Run Mode field on the Function Select screen, this screen will be displayed in either actual mode or in simulation mode.
If forecast is consumed at the plant level, any forecast entered for the company/warehouse other than the manufacturing warehouse will not be displayed until the forecast consumption is run. Any forecast which has changed within the manufacturing company/warehouse will be detected and you will be notified by an appropriate warning message to this effect.
If there are changes in the forecast since the last run of forecast consumption, they will be displayed as if totally unconsumed. Also, any changes in actual demand, in particular quantities since the last run of forecast consumption, will not be reflected in the overall demand numbers (i.e. total demand) and may cause projected inventory to become negative or remain over zero for certain periods of time.
The unconsumed forecast will show the difference between the forecast and actual demand, but only shows the results of the last run of forecast consumption. Therefore, changes in actual demand since the last run will not be reflected in the unconsumed forecast figure.
PLANT
Display only. Requirements information is displayed for this plant.
HORIZON DATE
The planning horizon used to limit the display is the same as that calculated during the MRP run. The horizon may be extended by changing either the order action planning factor on the MRP request screen, or the cumulative lead time for the selected item. Cumulative lead time should not be changed manually, as it will be overwritten when the next generation is run. Horizon for JIT parts is changed by altering the JIT plan days factor or by setting the horizon on the Function Select screen.
PART NUMBER/PART DESCRIPTION
Display only. The part entered on the Function Select screen. It must be an active part which is not a reference or planning part.
PART TYPE
Display only. The type assigned to this part on the Part Master file.
UNIT OF MEASURE
Display only. This is the stockkeeping unit of measure for this part as defined on the Part Master File (DE100M).
YIELD FACTOR
Display only. Used to inflate the item order quantity to account for expected scrap by increasing the required demand quantity of the parent part and planning the order quantity accordingly in the Master Scheduling and Requirements Planning modules.
PLANNING POLICY CODE
Display only. This is the Order Policy Code assigned to the part in the Part Master file. One of the system-defined or user-defined codes on Reference File category 404.
DEMAND CODE
Display only. This field determines the planning method for the part. Valid values are:
D - Daily Master Scheduled part
M - Standard Master Scheduled part
R - Requirements Planning part
S - Service part
FIXED LEADTIME DAYS
Display only. The number of working days that the vendor or fixed-time portion of the manufacturing process takes to deliver or complete a standard-sized lot from release of order.
PLANNING POLICY QUANTITY
Display only. The quantity of this part that is usually ordered.
PLANNING BALANCE
Display only. The quantity of the item that is currently available in inventory. It is calculated as follows:
Inventory in the on-hand balance type
Plus Inventory in all other balance types at the manufacturing warehouse that are available for planning.
Plus Work in process inventory
Plus Distribution inventory at any distribution warehouse where the Available for Planning flag (on the Warehouse Description File) is Yes.
Minus Inventory reserved for customer orders, if any balance types are available for both planning and distribution and the Sales Order Planning flag on the Warehouse Description File is No (indicating that sales orders sourced from distribution inventory are not included in demand calculations).
If the part is potency controlled, the quantity in this field is displayed in reverse image and reflects the planning balance in terms of potent units. Potent units are calculated as follows:
SKU for each balance type on each part/lot/location multiple location record
Multiplied by The actual potency on the Lot Control master record for the part/lot
Divided by The standard potency percentage on the Part Master record for the plant
If negative inventory is being ignored (inventory netting flag is set to 'I'), then this field will be displayed in reverse image and will reflect the real-time amount (not zero). However, the supply planned for this part and displayed real-time, will not account for negative inventory that existed at the time of planning.
POLICY INCREMENT
Display only. The quantity of this part that is usually ordered beyond the first quantity ordered.
MAXIMUM ORDER QUANTITY
Display only. This is the maximum quantity of this part that can be created in one order.
JOB NUMBER/JOB DESCRIPTION
Display only (in a job-controlled environment). The job for which the information is displayed. It must be a valid job from the Job Master file.
JOB STATUS CODE
Display only (in a job-controlled environment). The status of the job as defined on the Job Master file. The valid system supplied status codes are:
O - Open
C - Closed
Z - Costing Closed.
You may define other Job Status Codes on Reference File category D48.
DATE
Display only. The order/requisition due date for supply lines, the component required date or the forecast date for demand lines.
SELECT
Optional. Enter an X in this field and press a command key to see additional information about a specific order. This field is displayed only by pressing F6-Fold/Truncate.
ORDER NUMBER
For requirements: either the parent manufacturing order for which the displayed part is a component, or the sales order if the displayed part is sold direct from the manufacturing warehouse. Customer sales are only included if they are sourced from manufacturing inventory or if they are sourced from distribution inventory at a manufacturing warehouse and the Sales Order Planning flag for that warehouse on the Warehouse Description File is Yes. For supply: the manufacturing order, purchase order, requisition, or, for flows, the producing cell.
PART/CUSTOMER NUMBER
For requirements only, either the part on the order for which the selected part is a component or the customer identifier for a sales order. For forecast lines, shows the company/warehouse and the demand type to identify the source of the forecast line.
PLANT
Display only. The plant in which the specified order was generated.
COMPANY/WAREHOUSE
Display only. The company/warehouse in which the specified order was generated.
REQUIRED QUANTITY
Display only. The amount that is required for a specific item, shown in the order number column, on a specific date. If the Display Target Inventory flag was 'Y', target inventory will be included in this field. Target inventory records will not, however, reduce the quantity in the projected inventory column like other requirements, because they are a time-phased restatement of existing demand.
PROJECTED INVENTORY
Display only. Netting of supply and demand produces expected inventory levels according to the current schedule. Forecast quantities may be included in the projected inventory. A warning message will be displayed indicating whether forecast is included or not included in the project inventory.
YIELD
Display only. For supply orders/requisitions only, the expected deliverable quantity taking into account the yield factor of the end item (part master yield factor). If the supply quantity is greater than zero, the yield is calculated as such: Order Quantity minus the expected scrap, as calculated from the yield factor on the part master. If Shop Floor is installed, the yield will be figured as the Order Quantity minus the amount actually scrapped for the order. With Shop Floor installed, the lesser quantity of these two yields will represent the quantity placed in this field.
ORDER TYPE
Display only. Used to designate manufacturing orders, purchase orders, transfer orders, and purchase and transfer requisitions. May be blanket or single release for purchase orders and manufacturing or rework for manufacturing orders.
ORDER STATUS
Display only. The status of the specified supply record. Possible values are:
P - Planned
F - Firmed
O - Open
R - Released
S - Shipped
T - Partially Shipped
