This screen is used to add, change, or delete container specifications on the Container Master File. For change transactions, at least one field must change for the transaction to be valid.
EXTERNAL CONTAINER CODE
Display only. This field indicates the external container code of the container to be added, changed, or deleted.

This display only field indicates the container to be added, changed, or deleted.
STANDARD QUANTITY
Required. Enter the number of items required to fill the container. This value must contain the number of decimal places defined on the Reference File (category 446).
CONTAINER DESCRIPTION
Required. Enter a description of the container.
TOTAL NUMBER ON FLOOR
Optional. Enter the total number of containers on the shop floor that are described by these specifications.

Optional. Enter an additional 25-character description for the container.
HEIGHT
Optional. Enter the height of the container. If entered, this value must be numeric, right-justified, and contain three decimal positions.
DEPTH
Optional. Enter the depth of the container. If entered, this value must be numeric, right-justified, and contain three decimal positions.
WIDTH
Optional. Enter the width of the container. If entered, this value must be numeric, right-justified, and contain three decimal positions.
DIMENSION UNIT OF MEASURE
Optional. Enter the unit of measure of the specified container dimensions. The unit of measure is required if the Height, Depth, or Width fields were entered.
If entered, the unit of measure must be defined on the Reference File (category 005).
MAX WEIGHT - FULL
Optional. Enter the maximum weight of the container when full.
MAX WEIGHT - EMPTY
Optional. Enter the weight of an empty container.
CONTAINER VOLUME
Optional. Enter the volume of the container. If entered, this value must be numeric, right-justified, and contain three decimal positions.
CONTAINER MATERIAL
Optional. Enter the material the container is made of. This field is user-defined.
OWNER
Required if container management is used (Reference File category N18 is set up). Enter the owner of the specified container. The owner is user-defined. If container management is used, this field must be a valid plant, vendor, or customer, depending on the value of the container owner flag.
If container management is not used, this field is optional and is not validated.
CONTAINER USED FLAG
Required. Code indicating whether the container is reusable or disposable. Valid values are:
Y - Container is reusable.
N - Container is disposable.
OWNER FLAG
Required if displayed. Code indicating whether the value in the owner field is a plant (1), customer (2), or vendor (3). This field is only displayed if container management is used (Reference File category N18 is set up).
RETURN RATIO (IN/OUT)
Optional. For containers supplied by vendors, enter the number of full containers received from and empty containers returned to the vendor.
PICK FROM TOP/FRONT
Optional. This field is displayed if container management is not used (Reference File category N18 is not set up). This field indicates whether items should be picked from the top of the container, or from the front. Valid values are:
1 - Top
2 - Front
STACKING LIMIT FLAG
Optional. This field is displayed if container management is used (Reference File category N18 is set up). This field indicates how items should be picked from the container. The first two valid values are:
1 - Top
2 - Front
Up to seven additional codes can be user-defined on Reference File category F56.
PACKING PATTERN/COMMENTS
Optional. Enter any user-defined comments.
COMMAND KEYS
Enter - Process transaction.
F2 - Display a window where a fast path option or mnemonic can be entered. Fast path allows the next menu selection to be made directly from this screen. When the window is displayed, pressing F3 will remove it.
F3 - Exit program and return to menu.
F4 - Display a list of values for the field where the cursor is positioned. If you select one of the items from the list, it will be returned to the application screen.
F9 - Enter the Container Master Inquiry Program.
F10 - Return to the Function Select screen to select a different container for maintenance.
F15 - Enter a different container for which to perform the current maintenance function.
