This screen displays a single-level bill of material explosion for a specified part number. If you wish to modify a component-parent relationship, enter an 'X' in the select field and press Command 9 - Product Structure Maintenance. If you wish to display a list of documents associated with one of the components, enter an 'X' in the select field and press Command 11. Command Key 11 will not display if the Bill of Documents module is not installed.
PLANT
Display only. The plant where the parent part is manufactured.
PARENT PART NUMBER
Display only. The displayed components are used to make this item. The parent part number is reverse-imaged if it is anything other than Active or Marked for Deletion.
BATCH QUANTITY
Display only. The standard quantity of an item that is produced in each production run. If you do not use batch sizing, the batch quantity is defined as 1. When you create a manufacturing order, you will specify some multiple of the batch size for the order quantity.
REVISION LEVEL
Display only. The version of the product structure displayed.
EFFECTIVITY DATE
Display only. Only components in effect on this date are displayed.
DRAWING NUMBER
Display only. A cross-reference to any engineering drawing associated with the parent part. This field is maintained on the Part Master File.
SELECT FIELD
Optional. Type an X in this field and press F9 to modify the corresponding parent/component relationship. Type an X in the field and press F11 to see any related documents (if the Bill of Documents module is installed). The select field is reverse-imaged if the parent part number is anything other than Active or Marked for Deletion.
SEQUENCE NUMBER
Display only. The sequence number assigned to the part in the bill of material. If this is a reference structure, REF is displayed in this field. The sequence number field is reverse-imaged if the parent part number is anything Active or Marked for Deletion.
COMPONENT PART NUMBER
Display only. The number of a part that is used to make the parent part. It is an existing, active part that has a part type of Purchased (1), Manufactured (2), Raw Material (3), Reference (5), Build-Thru (6), Transfer (8), or Non-Stock(C). The part may be a Reference part only if the structure is a reference structure (REF CDE = R). The component part can be a planning part only if the parent part is a planning part. The component part number field is reverse-imaged if the parent part number is anything other than Active or Marked for Deletion.
PART STATUS
Display only. The Part Status of the component part on the Part Master File. A part status of '1' signifies that the component is an active part. The part status field is reverse-imaged if the parent part number is anything other than Active or Marked for Deletion.
QUANTITY PER
Display only. Quantity of the component required to manufacture one batch size of the parent part. Will display up to seven decimal places. The quantity per field is reverse-imaged if the parent part number is anything other than Active or Marked for Deletion.
UNIT OF MEASURE
Display only. The unit of measure for Quantity Per. The unit of measure field is reverse-imaged if the parent part number is anything other than Active or Marked for Deletion.
COMPONENT SCRAP FACTOR
Display only. The scrap factor of the component part. Used to inflate the quantity of the component needed in the manufacturing process to make the parent part to account for unusable component parts. It is numeric and is always zero for planning parts. To see a detailed explanation of how component scrap factors are used in required quantity calculations, type an 'X' to the left and press F11. The component scrap factor field is reverse-imaged if the parent part number is anything other than Active or Marked for Deletion.
USAGE CODE
Display only. This code is used to determine whether a component part will be consumed (C) by the parent part or produced (P) as a result of making the parent part. Any part type may be a by-product of a manufacturing operation. The usage code field is reverse-imaged if the parent part number is anything other than Active or Marked for Deletion.
IN OR OUT EFFECTIVITY FLAG
Display only. Identifies whether the engineering change order brings the component into or out of effectivity. If an ECO is displayed, the values will be IN or OUT. The I/O field is reverse-imaged if the parent part number is anything other than Active or Marked for Deletion.
ENGINEERING CHANGE ORDER
Display only. It is used to define an engineering change order associated with this component relationship. The engineering change order number will exist on the Engineering Change Order (ECO) File. The engineering change order field is reverse-imaged if the parent part number is anything other than Active or Marked for Deletion.
DATE
Display only.
o For IN engineering changes, the first date the component will appear in the bill of material.
o For OUT engineering changes, the date the component will be removed from the bill of material. The date field is reverse-imaged if the parent part number is anything other than Active or Marked for Deletion.
COMMENT TEXT
Display only. Displays the associated comments if the comments flag is set to Y (yes) on the select screen.
COMMAND KEYS
Enter - Return to the select screen.
F2 - Display a window where a fast path option or mnemonic can be entered. Fast path allows the next menu selection to be made directly from this screen. When the window is displayed, pressing F3 will remove it.
F3 - Exit program and return to menu.
F9 - Enter the Product Structure Maintenance Program.
F11 - Display a list of documents associated with the selected component. If no component is selected, display documents associated with the parent. This command key only displays if the Bill of Documents Module is installed (Reference File Orders for the parent part are some multiple of the batch Category 012).
F12 - Display the bill of material for the selected component the "next level down" if the component is a manufacturing, planning, build-thru, or transfer part. For transfer parts, the sourcing plant will automatically default to allow the user to easily "move" into the sourcing plant to view the part's bill of material in that plant for eligible part types. No function key is provided to "walk back up" the BOM to where you started, so the original parent part and plant should be entered on the select to display the original BOM.
F14 - Used to enter Part Comments Inquiry for the selected component part number. If no component part number is selected, then the parent part number's part comments will be displayed, if they exist.
