This screen is used to request either the BOM Comparison report or the BOM Comparison Exception report. A user can compare two bill of materials (BOM), the component make-up of two manufacturing orders (MO), or a bill of material to the component make-up of a manufacturing order. You can generate a report which details all components contained in the compared parts or manufacturing orders. You can also generate a report containing only exception components.
PLANT 1
Required. Used to identify the plant from which the bill of material of Part Number One or MO Number One will be used for comparison.
PLANT 2
Required. Used to identify the plant from which the bill of material of Part Number Two or MO Number Two will be used for comparison.
PART NUMBER 1
Required if MO Number One field is left blank. The part whose bill of material you want to compare against Part Number Two or MO Number Two.
PART NUMBER 2
Required if MO Number Two field is left blank. The part whose bill of material you want to compare against Part Number One or MO Number One.
EFFECTIVITY DATE 1
Required if Part Number One field is entered and Revision Level One field is left blank. The date on which Part Number One's revision level will go into effect on the shop floor.
EFFECTIVITY DATE 2
Required if Part Number Two field is entered and Revision Level Two field is left blank. The date on which Part Number Two's revision level will go into effect on the shop floor.
REVISION LEVEL 1
Required if Part Number One field is entered and Effectivity Date One field is left blank. Records the level of engineering change currently in effect for Part Number One.
REVISION LEVEL 2
Required if Part Number Two field is entered and Effectivity Date Two field is left blank. Records the level of engineering change currently in effect for Part Number Two.
MANUFACTURING ORDER 1
Required if Part Number One field is left blank. Identifies the manufacturing order to be compared against Part Number Two or MO Number Two.
MANUFACTURING ORDER 2
Required if Part Number Two field is left blank. Identifies the manufacturing order to e compare against Part Number One or MO Number One.
REQUEST CODE
Required. Enter the number (1 or 2) corresponding to the type of comparison report you wish to request. Valid values:
1 - Used for printing all the components in the BOM/component requirements of both parts/MO numbers requested for BOM comparison.
2 - Used for printing only those components with exceptions. Exceptions include differences in component quantity pers and components not common to both parts/MO numbers requested for BOM comparison.
EXPLODE BUILD-THRU PARTS
Required. Specifies whether or not build-thru parts will be printed on the BOM Comparison report along with all component parts or exception component parts. Valid values:
Y - Display all build-thru parts on this report.
N - Do not display any build-thru parts on this report.
PRINT IMMEDIATELY
