Define Containers

Containers are used to store and move parts in a just-in-time, flow environment.  If you do not use the Just-in-Time module, skip these steps.

Note that the same container codes are used by all companies and plants within MAC-PAC.

1.   Determine a two-character container code and/or a 15-character external container code to identify each container.  An external container code must be defined if container management is to be used.

2.   Define each container using the Container Master Maintenance menu option.  Enter descriptive information, such as the default number of units held in one container.

3.   Verify that the containers were defined correctly by using the Container Master Inquiry option.

4.         Correct any errors by repeating step 2.
