Change Information for a Plant

You cannot change a manufacturing warehouse from one plant to another.

1.   To change which distribution warehouses are associated with a plant, use the Plant/Warehouse Description  conversation to access the record for the warehouse to be changed.  Change the Plant field on the description screen to the new plant code.

2.   To delete a plant:

a.   Use the Plant/Warehouse Description conversation to delete all distribution warehouses associated with the plant.  Follow the procedures for deleting a warehouse.

b.   Use the conversation to delete the manufacturing warehouse.

Note:    Deleting plants and warehouses can involve a lot of effort, especially after parts and workcenters have been defined.  To minimize effort, consider carefully what plants and warehouses should be created and how parts should be assigned to them.  It is also important to choose appropriate three-digit codes to indicate the plant and warehouse and to enter them correctly on all screens.
