Delete a Part

All activity related to a part must be completed before the part can be deleted.  For example, any manufacturing orders for the part must be completed, and all accounting transactions related to them must have been processed, before the part can be deleted.  Although these restrictions make it difficult to delete a part, it is very important that MAC-PAC retain the part definition as long as the part is purchased, manufactured, used, stored, or included in accounting entries anywhere in the system.

The list in Appendix C identifies all conditions that must be met before a part can be deleted.  Once you have met these conditions, you will perform the following steps:

1.   Use the Part Master Maintenance conversation to flag the part for deletion.

2.   Purge the Part Master File (DE100M) using the File Support Menu.  You access the File Support Menu from the MAC-PAC System Processing Menu.
