Container Definition
Container Definition
Containers are defined in the Container Master Maintenance conversation. For each container defined, you can specify a two-character container code and/or a 15-character external container code. The key information in defining containers for use by the container management features are this external container code and the container owner, which is the plant, customer, or vendor that owns the container. When recording inventory transactions for the container, you can also specify the holder, which is the plant, customer, or vendor that currently possesses the container.
When defining the owner or holder of a container, you must use a valid plant, customer, or vendor ID and a holder/owner type flag. This flag indicates whether the code entered as the owner or holder is a plant (owner/holder flag = 1), customer (flag = 2), or vendor (flag = 3).
