Updating the Transaction Files

Pay special attention to the utility you use or custom conversion program you create to transfer your current part master data to the Part Master Transaction Files.  If the data is not transferred correctly, the Batch Part Master Maintenance Program will not update the part master file.  For example, all fields on the transaction files are alphanumeric, however, some of these fields contain data that is moved into numeric fields on the Part Master File.  If your conversion program does not right-justify these fields, the Part Master File will not be updated correctly.
