Appendix B -- Part Master Fields by Part Use
Appendix B -- Part Master Fields by Part Use
Different Part Master information is defined in different circumstances. The following lists identify what information is relevant based on how the part is used (sold or used as a component) and how it is obtained (bought, made, or transferred from another plant). Note that more than one list will apply to a single part. For example, a part may be purchased and sold. In this case, the fields on both the Parts to Be Purchased and Parts to Be Sold lists are relevant.
You do not have to enter information in all fields that are listed as relevant. For example, product classes and subclasses are used in Sales Analysis. Therefore, they are listed as relevant for parts that are to be sold. However, your company might not use the Sales Analysis module. Therefore, although these fields are listed as relevant, you would leave them blank. The Key Concepts section of this manual will help you decide which of the relevant fields you wish to use.
If a field is NOT listed as relevant for a part, you may ignore it. Either leave the field blank or use the default value that appears on the screen.
