This screen is used to specify factors affecting the scheduling of operations passing through this workcenter, and the evaluation of the workload against available capacity in the factory.
The information defined here will be used by the Shop Floor Control, Capacity Planning, and Master Scheduling modules.
PLANT
Display only. The plant where the workcenter is located. It was entered on the Function Select screen.
WORKCENTER NUMBER
Display only. The workcenter for which information is being updated. It was entered on the Function Select screen.
WORKCENTER DESCRIPTION
Display only. Text that helps identify this workcenter. It is stored on the Workcenter File. It was entered on detail screen (for new workcenters) or retrieved from the file (for existing workcenters).
INCLUDE SETUP IN LOAD
Required for all but miscellaneous cost workcenters (workcenter number greater than or equal 900 and numeric). Must be either Yes (Y) or No (N). This option determines whether the load arising from set-up time will be included in the comparisons with available capacity in the Capacity Planning Module. If the option is set to N, a workcenter will only be identified as overloaded if the run time exceeds capacity, without regard to setup requirements.
UTILIZATION PERCENT
Optional. This figure describes the percentage of the total time spent at the workcenter which is anticipated to be "direct" (i.e. charged to specific orders). It can be used as a standard against which to report actual performance in the Shop Floor Control module.
EFFICIENCY PERCENT
Optional. This figure describes the ratio between the expected (or "earned") hours - based on the standard piece rates and quantities completed - and actual hours reported. It can be used as a standard against which to report labor and machine performance in the Shop Floor Control module.
MOVE HOURS
Optional. One decimal place. The average number of hours spent moving materials from another workcenter during the processing of an order. This will be used to offset the operation start times in the Shop Floor Control module, when consecutive operations take place in different workcenters.
QUEUE HOURS
Optional. One decimal place. The standard number of hours spent queuing between consecutive operations within this workcenter. This will be used to offset operation start times by the Shop Floor Control module.
HOURS PER DAY
Required. Zero decimal places. Defines the available working hours in a day at this workcenter. Will be used to schedule start and due dates in the Shop Floor Control module.
DEFAULT SIR LOCATION
Optional. When performing manufacturing order receipts and quantity completes in a multiple location backflushing environment, this field can be used to override the SIR location defined on the component's Part Master record. When performing a SIR issue, the reference operation number of the component will be used to retrieve a labor requirement associated with the manufacturing order. If the workcenter attached to the labor requirement has a non-blank default SIR location, the specified location will be used as the actual location from which inventory for the component will be deducted. If this field is left blank, inventory will be relieved from the SIR location specified on the component's Part Master record.
KEY FACILITY
Optional. May be used to include this workcenter in a pre-defined key facility. The key facility is defined in the Master Scheduling module and will be used there to perform key facility loading. More than one workcenter may be grouped in the same key facility.
