Overlapping Operations

Run Time Overlap
(Type 4)

In this example, the first operation is any nonfixed time operation.  The second operation is Run Time Overlap (type 4).  Parts from the first operation are not required for setup.  However, a quantity or percent (overlap) of parts from the first operation is required before the run of the second operation can begin.  The run time of the second operation always overlaps the run time of the first operation.

Setup and Run Time Overlap
(Type 5)

In this example, the first operation is any nonfixed time operation.  The second operation is Setup and Run Time Overlap (type 5).  A quantity or percent (overlap) of parts from the first operation is required before the setup of the second operation can begin.  Depending upon the length of the setup, run time will also overlap the run time of the first operation.

Move/Queue Time

If move or queue times are involved, this time offsets the start time of the second operation.
