Calculation of Load
Calculation of Load
When setup time and quantities completed or scrapped are not reported against an operation, the labor and machine setup and run load is calculated as follows:
Labor Setup Load
Labor Setup Load Hours = Standard Labor Setup Hours x Number of People
Machine Setup Load
Machine Setup Load Hours = Standard Machine Setup Hours x Number of Machines
Calculation of Run Load
Labor Run Load = Standard Labor Run Hours x Number of People
Machine Run Load = Standard Machine Run Hours x Number of Machines
When setup time is reported against an operation, the setup reported is determined and then the setup load is decreased by the amount reported.
Calculation of Setup Reported
Labor Setup Reported = Setup Labor Time Reported / Number of Persons
Machine Setup Reported = Setup Machine Time Reported
Number of Machines
Calculation of Setup Load
Labor Setup Load Hours = (Standard Labor Setup Hours - Setup Labor Time Reported) x Number of Persons
Machine Setup Load Hours = (Standard Machine Setup Hours - Setup Machine Time Reported) x Number of Machines
When quantities completed and/or scrapped are reported, the run quantities reported are determined and the labor and machine run load is calculated as follows:
Calculation of Run Completed
Run Completed = (Quantity Completed + Quantity Scrapped) x Piece Rate*
* Piece rate = may be expressed in terms of hours/piece or pieces/hour.
Calculation of Run Reported for a Noncrew Operation
Run Reported = Run Complete / Number of Persons
or
Run Reported = Run completed / Number of machines
Calculations of Run Reported for a Crew Operation
Run Reported = Run Completed
Calculation of Run Load
Labor Load Hours = (Standard Labor Run Hours - Run Reported) x Number of Persons
Machine Load Hours = (Standard Machine Run Hours - Run Reported) x Number of Machines
If completed or scrapped quantities are reported, the setup load is assumed to be zero.
For fixed time operations, if any quantity completed or scrapped is reported, the operation is assumed to be complete. For MRP parts that are batch sensitive, the remaining load is depicted.
