This is the second screen of the Carrier Master Maintenance conversation. It allows you to enter detail information for the appropriate carrier record. Carrier records are stored in the Carrier Master File (CF160M).
Note: The address information on this screen is displayed in various ways depending on the way your system is set up. The following information should be considered:
Reference File category 133 determines whether a third address line is displayed or whether the city, state, and zip code fields are formatted. The valid choices are:
1 - Display city/state/zip code
2 - Free format
CARRIER CODE
Display only. Indicates the carrier code selected on the Function Select screen. A carrier code represents an entity responsible for transporting shipments.
CARRIER NAME
Required. Enter the name of the carrier to be associated with the carrier code entered on the Function Select screen. The information in this field will be printed on BOL paperwork; no validation is performed.
CARRIER STATUS
Display only. This field displays the current status of the carrier. It is system generated and is maintained using the various transaction options of this conversation.
ADDRESS LINE 1
Required. This field indicates the primary address for the carrier. Address information associated with the carrier will print on BOL paperwork.
ADDRESS LINE 2
Optional. This field can be used to enter additional address information for the carrier. There is no validation.
CITY CODE
Required. If the System Defaults Reference File category 133 address code is 1-display city/state/zip code, this field will be displayed. This field indicates the city address for this Carrier. City codes must be valid on Reference File category 306.
STATE CODE
Required. If the System Defaults Reference File category 133 address code is 1-display city/state/zip code, this field will be displayed. This field indicates the state address for this carrier. State codes must be valid on Reference File category 304.
ZIP CODE
Required. If the System Defaults Reference File category 133 address code is 1-display city/state/zip code, this field will be displayed. This field indicates the zip code of the city and state entered above; no validation is performed.
ADDRESS LINE 3
Optional. If the System Defaults Reference File category 133 address code is 2-free form, this field will be displayed. It can be used to enter additional address information for the carrier. There is no validation.
COUNTRY CODE
Required. Indicates the country of the carrier. Must be a valid country code on Reference File category 007.
COUNTRY DECODE
Display only. If you are maintaining an existing carrier record, this field displays the decode for the specified country. The decode defaults from Reference File category 007.
TAX PAYER ID
Optional. This field is used to indicate the carrier's taxpayer identification number. It is a memo field and has no validation.
TELEPHONE NUMBER
Optional. This field is used to indicate the carrier's telephone number. It is a memo field and has no validation.
TELEPHONE EXTENSION
Optional. This field is used to indicate the telephone extension where the carrier can be reached. It is a memo field and has no validation.
FAX NUMBER
Optional. This field is used to indicate the fax number where the carrier can be reached. It is a memo field and has no validation.
BOL DOCUMENT FORMAT CODE
Required. This field determines the default form in which bills of lading for this carrier will be generated. Valid document formats are defined on Reference File category G61. The default value for this field is P (printed form).
LANGUAGE CODE
Optional. This field indicates the language code associated in which the carrier's documents will be generated. If you enter a language code, it must be valid on Reference File category D92.
NETWORK ID
Optional. This field identifies the network ID used by this carrier for EDI transmissions. This field is for information purposes only; there is no system validation.
COMMAND KEYS
Enter - Process carrier information and return to the Function Select screen (CF160S01).
F3 - Exit program without processing the entered data.
F4 - Display a list of values for the field where the cursor is positioned. If you select one of the items from the list, it will be returned to the application screen.
F10 - Return to the Function Select screen (CF160S01) without processing the entered data.
