The Function Select screen is the first screen to be displayed in the Event Maintenance conversation, which allows you to define and maintain information about events to be monitored by the Business Process Manager (BPM). Use the Function Select screen to indicate whether you want to add, change, delete, copy, or inquire about an event type.
EVENT TYPE
Required. Enter the three-character code identifying the event that you want to define or maintain.
MAINTENANCE CODE
Required. Enter the appropriate code for the action you wish to perform. Valid values are:
1 - Add a new event.
2 - Change the information for an existing event.
3 - Add a new event by copying the information from an existing event. The code for the event from which information is to be copied must be entered in the Copy from Event field.
4 - Delete an existing event type. The Event Detail screen will display the information for the specified event so you can confirm that it is the event you want to delete. An event type cannot be deleted if extracted event records still exist for that type.
5 - View the information for an existing event. All fields on the Event Detail screen and the Event Dispatch screen will be protected.
COPY FROM EVENT
Required if 4 is entered in the Maintenance Code field. Enter the three-character code identifying the event that you want to copy to create the new event.
COMMAND KEYS
Enter - Process the information on the Function Select screen and display the Event Detail screen.
F2 - Display a window where a fast path option or mnemonic can be entered. Fast path allows the next menu selection to be made directly from this screen. When the window is displayed, pressing the Exit key (F3) will remove it.
F3 - Exit the program without processing the entered data and return to the BPM Menu screen.
F4 - Display a list of values for the field where the cursor is positioned. If you select one of the items from the list, it will be returned to the application screen.
