Database Fields Reserved for Future VAT Processing

The Reference File contains several fields related to VAT processing that do not currently affect processing. 

The first field relates to a concepts important in some VAT environments:  the need to distinguish between normal purchases and purchases classified as overhead or investment (POI).  Fields for normal purchase amount, overhead amount, and investment amount exist on the Open Item Header File.  However, MAC-PAC does not provide a screen for updating these fields.  The Display POI field on Reference File category 229 allows you to indicate that this concept applies in your environment.  This flag has no effect on system processing.

Two additional fields exist on the Vendor Master File and Customer Master File that do not currently affect system processing:

·     VAT print flag
·     VAT control flag

These fields can be maintained in the respective file maintenance conversations.
