Rule Comments

Rule comments are accessed by pressing F12=Comments on the Rule Header (EC100S02) and Rule Detail (EC100S03) screens.  Rule comments are associated with the rule itself.  There are not rule header comments and rule detail comments.  You may switch between rules while in the comments program.  On the header of the comment entry screen, you may specify the database type and the rule number.  These fields must be entered and they must be valid.  The database type must be D, P, or M and the rule must exist on the Rule Master File (EC100M).  Since there is no print code associated with rule comments, you must specify comments to be printed when requesting either the standard Rule Report (EC540A) or the Bill of Rules Report (EC560A).  When you specify that comments should be printed, ALL comments for the rules that meet the selection criteria will be printed.
