Manufacturing Order Comments

The comments on the manufacturing order will default from the Part Master Comments File.  The standard Comments Master Maintenance Program (CF190E) will be called so that you can enter comments for the manufacturing order.  You will not be able to enter comments for a planned manufacturing order.

For configured parts, if comments specific to shop paperwork were entered on the sales order, these will be copied over to the standard Comments File automatically during manufacturing order generation in the Configurator Monitor Program (EC200E).  General comments with a print code of '0' will also be copied in from the order as well.  These comments will appear before any other text from the comments file are copied.  Order level comments from the sales order will be copied to each manufacturing order directly associated with a sales order line.  Line level comments from the sales order will be copied only to the manufacturing order associated with that line.  Lower level manufacturing orders, generated for configured components, will not have any comments copied for them.

Comments and/or instructions created at the part and product structure level can be carried over through the production process.  Since comments can be carried over to manufacturing orders for printing or for reference only, three new print codes were set-up on Reference File category G67.  These new print codes will identify the comments specific to manufacturing orders.  Comments can be printed on the Manufacturing Order and/or the Picking List reports.
