ANSI X12 830 messages are electronic delivery requests that define quantities of specific items they are ordering.  The ANSI acquisition screens allow you to submit the request to start processing delivery requests.  The ANSI Acquisition Program (GA208E) reads and validates data from delivery request workfiles.  Then, if no errors occur, the system updates the Synchro delivery request header, lines, and comments.

If an error occurs at the header, item/delivery point, or release level, the system creates the appropriate error message.  Messages in error can be maintained in the ANSI Update conversation.  Once a message has been modified, the system re-processes it during the next run of the ANSI Acquisition Program.

Before the submission of the ANSI Acquisition batch program, you must use third party translation software to such as PREMENOS EDI400 to map EDI files into Synchro workfiles.  Once you execute this operation, the ANSI Acquisition batch program can be executed.

The system retrieves the date used for this batch run from the daily batch parameter in Reference File category G15 (Synchro Batch Date).  The ANSI Acquisition batch processing does not update this date.

For each item/delivery point relationship associated to a blanket order referenced in a delivery request, the process considers the releases which already are in the system in order to take into account the 'new' releases.

An endorsement is associated to each of the acquired releases.  The correct endorsement is the one valid at the period start date of the release.

The ANSI Acquisition Program performs almost all the same controls as the DELINS/VDA Acquisition Program.  For more detail, see the Synchro Key Concept regarding ANSI and generic processing.

SUBMIT

Required.  Allows you to confirm your submission of your ANSI delivery request.  Once you hit ENTER, the system will begin processing your delivery requests.

COMMAND KEYS

Enter - Validates the entered data.

F2    - Display a window where a fast path option or mnemonic can be entered.  Fast path allows the next menu selection to be made directly from this screen.  When the window is displayed, pressing F3 will remove it.

F3    - Allows the user to exit the screen without updating the entered data.
