A consolidation point is an intermediate delivery location between the vendor and the customer. Consolidation points can be used by the vendor, or at the customer's request, to optimize the logistical organization of shipments. When delivery points are near each other, it is usually more efficient and cost effective to gather shipments at a designated point and dispatch the shipments from there. The Consolidation Point Function Select screen (GA170S01) allows you to add, change, or delete consolidation point information. The consolidation points you define in this conversation are associated with a specific item/customer shipping point in the Endorsements Maintenance conversation in this module.
CONSOLIDATION POINT NUMBER
Required. A consolidation point is an intermediate delivery location between the vendor and the customer. This number must not be blanks or all nines. In add mode, this consolidation point must not exist on the Endorsements File. In change and delete modes, this consolidation point must exist on the Endorsements File.
MAINTENANCE CODE
Required. Must be one of the codes displayed.
COMMAND KEYS
Enter - Validates the entered data. If valid, the detail screen is displayed.
F2 - Display a window where a fast path option or mnemonic can be entered. Fast path allows the next menu selection to be made directly from this screen. When the window is displayed, pressing F3 will remove it.
F3 - Exits this conversation and displays the application menu.
F4 - Display a list of values for the field where the cursor is positioned. If you select one of the items from the list, it will be returned to the application screen.
F9 - Calls the Groupage Point Inquiry conversation directly. This allows you to view existing groupage point information. You must return to the maintenance conversation by pressing F3=Exit before you can enter another conversation. Any information you have typed on the current screen will still be displayed when you return from the inquiry because you will not have exited the maintenance conversation.
