Drawing the Labels

The drawing of the labels is generated in the GALBTSRC File; the source file containing four members of text type UC, UMP, UMPS, UMPM, UCS, corresponding to the labels type 1,2,3, 4 and 5.  For each member, the corresponding  label is displayed containing the following graphics information:

·     Declaration of the graphic mode, page size

·     Lines and constant character strings (label frame)

·     Variable character strings (label data:  Customer item number, quantity, label number to be printed normally or with bar-codes.

During the label printing process, the GA520E program outputs the label source file to a printer file and substitutes the variable strings by their value.  This printer file will be processed by the printer in graphic mode.

To adapt a drawing to the labels (using preprinted paper), you must modify the related members of GALBTSRC, the codes associated with the lining of the elements specified.  You must refer to the manual description of the I.D.S. syntax.

To use another graphic standard, all the graphic control codes displayed in the members of GALBTSRC must be substituted by their equivalent within the syntax of the standard used.

The standardized symbols ODETTE/GALIA (VQA logo, security stamp logo) are already programmed in the I.D.S. card, but will need to be defined in most of the other graphic standards in pixel mode.  (Such as the I.P.D.S. standard used by IBM.)  The system also integrates German VDA standards for the label since the format used in Germany is similar to GALIA.
