This screen is used to select the Sales Forecast Master File records to be processed, and to specify the type of processing to be performed.
FORECAST YEAR/SEQUENCE
Required. Used to define the forecast year/forecast sequence for the particular forecast to be maintained. The forecast year and forecast sequence fields must both be entered and must exist as a valid year/sequence for a particular company/location on the Reference File (category A05).
COMPANY/LOCATION
Required. Used to define the company/location for the forecast to be maintained. Both the Company and the Location fields must be entered and must be valid values included on the Reference File (Category 002).
FORECAST TYPE
Required. One of the five forecast type options must be entered. The forecast type defines the forecast level to be maintained. Only ONE FORECAST TYPE can be entered. Valid forecast types are:
o Total Location: If entered this field must be equal to the location code used to define company/location for the current forecast being maintained. This field must match the location code entered in the Company/Location fields of this screen. This forecast type will define a sales forecast by period for the entire company/ location. This value must exist on the Reference File in category 002.
o Product Class: If entered, must be a valid product class code on the Reference File (category 426). This forecast type will define a sales forecast by period for all parts with the entered product class.
o Customer Class: If entered, must be a valid customer class code on the Reference File (category 310). This forecast type will define a sales forecast by period for all customers with the entered customer class.
o Salesperson: If entered, must be a valid salesperson code on the Reference File (category 315). This forecast type will define a sales forecast by period for all sales for the entered salesperson.
o Part Number: If entered, must be a valid part number on the Part Master File (DE100M). This forecast type will define a sales forecast by period for all sales of the entered part number.
FINANCIAL, GROSS MARGIN OR STATISTICAL (1/2/3)
Required. (Forecast Data Type). Used to determine the type of data forecast. Valid types are:
1 - Financial data- Defines the forecast in terms of monetary sales value.
2 - Gross Margin data- Defines the forecast in terms of the percentage difference between the amount of sales, and the cost of sales.
3 - Statistical data- Defines the forecast in terms of quantity. This type of forecast can only be maintained for product class and part forecasts.
MAINTENANCE CODE
Required. Must be one of the options listed on the screen (1-3). To add a forecast, the forecast must not exist on the Sales Forecast Master File (SA110M). To change or delete a forecast, the forecast must already exist on the file. The combination of forecast year, company/ location, forecast type, and forecast data type defines a particular forecast.
COMMAND KEYS
Enter - Process request.
F2 - Display a window where a fast path option or mnemonic can be entered. Fast path allows the next menu selection to be made directly from this screen. When the window is displayed, pressing F3 will remove it.
F3 - Exit program and return to menu.
F4 - Display a list of values for the field where the cursor is positioned. If you select one of the items from the list, it will be returned to the application screen.
F9 - Enter the Sales Forecast Inquiry program.
F11 - Enter the Sales Analysis Inquiry program.
