The single line screen provides entry of sales orders for parts that are configured.  However, parts that are not configured can also be entered on this screen.

To get to this screen you must add a sales order from the Sales Order Maintenance Function Select screen (OP100S01) and have a 'Y' in the Configured Order field.

To add a part to the order, enter the letter 'A' in the Line Status field.  Then enter the sales order information in fields that appear below.

To update the order, enter the line number of the order to be changed in the Line Number field and the letter 'U' in the Line Status field.  The full single line maintenance line will then be displayed for fields to be updated.

To change only the configured options of the order, or to review configured options, enter the line number in the Line Number field and the letter 'O' in the Line Status field.  Note that placing an 'O' in the line status field is treated like an update, even if the options are only reviewed and left unchanged.

To close a line, enter the line number in the Line Number field and the letter 'U' in the Line Status field.  Once the line appears, change the Line Status field to the letter ‘C’ for closed.

LINE ACTION CODE

Optional.  Enter a valid, two-digit code that corresponds to the window you want to display.  If you enter an action code in this field, a separate window will display for each line in the order.  For example, if you enter action code DT to see the order line date window, that window will display separately for each line on the order (e.g. 10 order lines, 10 windows).  If you wish to see header level windows, enter an action code in the Header Action Code field.  Windows are defined on Reference File category 032.  The default window (action code DF) contains all fields that can be displayed for that window.  Custom windows also use action codes.  Those windows contain one or more of the fields included on the default window.

PAGE FOR LINE

Optional.  If you enter a line number in this field, the screen that contains that line number will be displayed.  For example, if you enter line 13, the second page of order lines will display because line 13 is on the second page.  Your cursor will not be on line 13, it will be on the first enterable field on the screen.

PROMISED SHIP DATE

Optional.  Used to define the date when goods should be shipped to the customer.  This date is also used for analysis of inventory availability in the Requirements Planning and Master Scheduling modules.

PART VALIDATION OPTION

Display only.  If this field is not blank on the Customer Master Address File, then it must be validated against Reference File category G89.  If it is blank, then the default validation sequence will be used.

SUBFILE OF ENTERED SALES ORDER LINES

Lines 8 through 18 of this screen display sales order lines that have already been entered.  The information in these fields is display only.  You must use the maintenance line to enter new lines or change any of the displayed lines.  Context-sensitive help is written for each of the fields in the maintenance line.  You can access help for a subfile field by moving the cursor to the corresponding field on the maintenance line and pressing Help.  (You can also page through all help text for the screen until you locate the appropriate field.)

ACTION CODE

Optional.  Enter a valid, two-digit code that corresponds to the window you want to display.  Windows are defined on Reference File category 032.  The default window (action code DF) contains all fields that can be displayed for that window.  Custom windows also use action codes.  Those windows contain one or more of the fields included on the default window.

Required.  Used to define the quantity requested for the item.  The order quantity cannot be negative.

UNIT PRICE

Optional.  Used to define the unit price of each item.  If the unit price is not entered, it is calculated using the price code and the base price from the warehouse balance record for the part.  If the part is configured for price, (a finalize price rule will be executed), the configured price will override all other prices, including the one entered in this field.

PRICING UNIT OF MEASURE

Optional.  Used to define the date when goods should be shipped to the customer.  This date is also used for analysis of inventory availability in the Requirements Planning and Master Scheduling modules.

WAREHOUSE

Optional.  This is the warehouse from which goods will be shipped.  It is entered if the sourcing warehouse for the line is different from the selling warehouse entered on the Function Select screen.  The default warehouse can be defined for the customer on the Customer Master file.  This customer default will override the selling warehouse default.  If the relief code on the Header screen is 'M' (manufacturing balance) the sourcing warehouse (at the line level) must be a manufacturing warehouse.  If the line is being shipped direct, this warehouse must be the same as the selling warehouse.  To access the Available to Promise Inquiry screen for this warehouse, enter 'AP' in the Action Code field and press the Status Inquiry key (F14).

MANUFACTURING ORDER STATUS

Optional.  Used to specify the status of all manufacturing orders related to the line when they are initially created.  This MO status does not represent the current MO status.  All MOs associated with the sales order, and their current status, can be viewed via F18 - MO Status Inquiry.  If this field is left blank, it will default to the value specified in Reference File category Y30.  This field is valid only when the part's manufacturing orders will be generated by the Expert Configurator module.  Valid values are defined in category Y32.

If this field is left blank, it will default to the value defined in Reference File category Y30.  This field is valid only when the part's manufacturing orders or requisitions will be generated by the Expert Configurator module.  Valid values are defined in category Y31.

Optional.  When you are maintaining a line that has manufacturing orders or requisitions associated with it, this field indicates if all of the firm, non-held manufacturing orders and uncovered requisitions should be deleted as a result of the line modification.

If this field is left blank, it defaults to the value defined in Reference File category Y30. This field is valid only when the part's manufacturing orders or requisitions are generated by the Expert Configurator module.

Optional.  This field allows you to go through the configurator without displaying any screens.  If you enter a 'Y' in this field, you will go through the configurator and options from the line that you are copying will default to the Multi-Line screen.  If you enter a 'N' in this field, the options will be copied over to the Multi-Line screen.  If options were not copied from the sales or quote order, then the options screen will automatically be displayed, regardless of this field.

ASSIGN JOB NUMBER

Optional.  This field allows you to assign a job number to an order line if the part entered on that line is job controlled.  If this field is Y-Yes, you will be taken automatically to the Job Setup and Maintenance Select screen.  If the field is N-No there will be no change in processing.  This fields defaults from Reference File category Y30 - Configurator Defaults.

CONFIGURATION CODE

Optional when adding a sales order line.  Display only when changing a sales order line.  Enter a configuration code that corresponds to the specified part number.  For the combination to be valid, it must exist on the Configuration Code File (EC140M) and the part must be configured costed.  If you enter a configuration code, the code will default to the most recent configurator options for that company/warehouse/part number/configuration code combination.
