This screen allows you to maintain price break information for a part/price line on a price list. This screen allows you to create automatic price breaks for customers who order certain quantities of a specific part. Price breaks can be defined as either a new base price or a discount amount/percentage.
Note: Price breaks are processed differently from volume discounts because they actually reduce the base price whereas volume discounts deduct an amount from the base price.
CURRENCY
Display only. Indicates the currency associated with this price list. This field is only displayed in multi-currency environments.
PRICE LIST
Display only. Identifies the price list for which you are currently maintaining price breaks. This is the price list code that you entered on the Function Select screen.
PRICE LIST DESCRIPTION
Display only. Indicates a short description of the price list currently being maintained.
HEADER STATUS
Display only. Indicates the status of the entire price list. Possible values are active and inactive. When entered, the price list's status automatically defaults to active. If you deactivate the price list, this field will display inactive.
PART NUMBER
Display only. Indicates the part number for which price breaks are being maintained.
PART DESCRIPTION
Display only. Indicates the description associated with the part. The part's description can be changed in the Part Master Maintenance conversation.
START DATE
Display only. Indicates the date this line becomes effective.
LINE STATUS
Display only. Indicates the status of the price list line currently being maintained. Initially, all new price lists lines are active. You may, however, change the lines to be inactive by deactivating them on the Multi-Line screen.
COMMENTS FLAG
Display only. Indicates whether there are comments related to this price list line. The flag will display Y (yes) if comments exist; otherwise, the flag will display N (no). If the flag displays N and you wish to enter comments, press the F12=Comments key. Once comments are entered, the system will update this flag to Y.
BASE PRICE
Optional in change mode. Indicates the base price associated with the part. This value defaults from the Multi-Line screen but can be overridden. The value of the base price field overrides the part's base price (as defined in the Warehouse Balance File). This means that any discounts that apply to an order using this price list will deduct the discount amount from the price indicated here rather than the part's warehouse balance price.
APPLY DISCOUNT FLAG
Optional. Indicates whether discounts can be applied to this line. Valid values are: Y (yes, allow discounts to be applied against this base price) or N (no, do not allow discounts to be applied to this line). The value of this field defaults from the Multi-Line screen.
PRICE LIST UNIT OF MEASURE
Optional. Indicates the unit of measure used specifically for this price list line. Valid units of measure are defined on Reference File category 005. Note that this unit of measure is only applicable as it relates to the unit base price entered for the associated part. The price list unit of measure is not the same as the pricing unit of measure (from the Warehouse Balance File), which is used on sales orders. The value of this field defaults from the Multi-Line screen.
Note: When pricing a sales order line, the base price from this price list is converted from the price list pricing unit of measure to the warehouse balance pricing unit of measure.
PRICE FLAG
Optional. Indicates whether the price break method is computed based on the price entered on this screen or if the discount is applied to the base price for the line. Valid values are: Y (price is equal to the specified price break price) or N (discounts are taken off the base price). The field defaults to Y.
QUANTITY BREAK
Optional. Indicates the order quantity required to qualify for the associated price break. This quantity break will only apply to this price list line.
PRICE/DISCOUNT
Optional. Indicates the new base price or discount percent associated with the quantity break. Depending on the value of the Price Flag, this field will either be processed as a base price or a discount percentage off the base price defined for the line. Note that the new base price can be either an increase or decrease from the original base price.
