To review detailed information about a customer, type an 'X' in the Select field of an individual line and press F19 - Cust Inquiry.
To maintain transfer order lines, type an 'X' in the Select field of an individual line and press F12 - TO Maintenance. You can then update line information using the Transfer Order Maintenance conversation.
To maintain sales order lines, type an 'X' in the Select field of an individual line and press F11 - SO Maintenance. You can then update line information using the Sales Order Maintenance conversation.
For sales order lines, you can use this screen to change the promised ship date and/or the reserved quantity. However, depending upon the line and shipment statuses, type of order line (parent or child), and nature of the change, you can take only certain actions to update a sales order line:
Parent Line -- Open
If a parent line is open and the shipment status is not X or C, you can change the promised ship date and reserved quantity in the following manner:
Change Promised Ship Date Only -- You can change to another date within the inventory reservation window. If you change a date that was within the inventory reservation window to a date outside of the window, the associated inventory will become unreserved. If you change a date that was outside the inventory reservation window to a date inside the window, the system will attempt to reserve inventory.
Change Reserved Quantity Only -- You can adjust the reserved quantity.
Change Promised Ship Date and Reserved Quantity -- You can change both the promised ship date and reserved quantity.
Parent Line -- Released (You want to increase inventory.)
If a parent line is released and you want to increase inventory, you can change the promised ship date and reserved quantity in the following manner:
Change Promised Ship Date Only -- If the shipment status is R, you can change to another date within or outside the inventory reservation window. If you change a date that was outside the inventory reservation window to a date inside the window, the system will attempt to reserve inventory. If the shipment status is C or X, the date cannot be changed unless the reserved quantity is increased. The date cannot be changed by itself.
Change Reserved Quantity Only -- For the inventory increase, the system will generate a backorder release for the full backordered quantity and will reserve what is requested. The shipment status does not have to be checked because a release is being created.
Change Promised Ship Date and Reserved Quantity -- For the inventory increase, the system will generate a backorder release for the full backordered quantity with the promised ship date requested and will reserve what is requested. If a backorder release is not created, the promised ship date change will not be reflected. The shipment status is not relevant.
Parent Line -- Released (You want to decrease inventory.)
If a parent line is released and you want to decrease inventory, you can change the promised ship date and reserved quantity in the following manner:
Change Promised Ship Date Only -- If the shipment status is R, you can change to another date within or outside the inventory reservation window. If you change a date that was outside the inventory reservation window to a date inside the window, the system will attempt to reserve inventory. If the shipment status is C or X, the date cannot be changed unless the reserved quantity is increased, so a date cannot be changed by itself.
Change Reserved Quantity Only -- If the shipment status is R, you can reduce the reserved quantity. If the shipment status is C or X (both confirmed statuses), the system will generate a critical error because you cannot decrease reserved inventory when the shipment is confirmed.
Change Promised Ship Date and Reserved Quantity -- If the shipment status is R, you can reduce the reserved quantity and change the promised ship date. If the shipment status is C or X (both confirmed statuses), the system will generate a critical error because you cannot decrease reserved inventory when the shipment is confirmed.
Parent Line -- Partially Shipped
If a parent line is partially shipped, you can change the promised ship date and reserved quantity in the following manner:
Change Promised Ship Date Only -- You can change the date on the line. There is no impact on inventory because none has been reserved. The shipment status is not relevant, and the system does not call control totals or update the shipment flag on the sales order line.
Change Reserved Quantity Only -- You can change the quantity. For an increase, the system will generate a backorder release for the full backordered quantity and will reserve what is requested. You cannot decrease the quantity because partially shipped lines never have inventory reserved to them. All shipment statuses are allowed.
Change Promised Ship Date and Reserved Quantity -- For an inventory increase, the system will generate a backorder release for the full backordered quantity with the promised ship date requested and will reserve what is requested. If a backorder release is not created, the promised ship date change will not be reflected. The shipment status is not relevant. Also, you cannot decrease the quantity because partially shipped lines never have inventory reserved to them.
Child Line -- Open
If a child line is open and the shipment status is not X or C, you can change the promised ship date and reserved quantity in the following manner:
Change Promised Ship Date Only -- You can change to another date within the inventory reservation window. If you change a date that was within the inventory reservation window to a date outside of the window, the associated inventory will become unreserved. If you change a date that was outside the inventory reservation window to a date inside the window, the system will attempt to reserve inventory.
Change Reserved Quantity Only -- You can adjust the reserved quantity.
Change Promised Ship Date and Reserved Quantity -- You can change both the promised ship date and reserved quantity.
Child Line -- Released (You want to increase inventory.)
If a child line is released and you want to increase inventory, you can change the promised ship date and reserved quantity in the following manner:
Change Promised Ship Date Only -- If the shipment status is R, you can change to another date within the inventory reservation window. If you change a date that was outside the inventory reservation window to a date inside the window, the system will attempt to reserve inventory. If the shipment status is C or X, the line is protected.
Change Reserved Quantity Only -- If the shipment status is R, you can increase the reserved quantity. If the shipment status is C or X, the line is protected.
Change Promised Ship Date and Reserved Quantity -- If the shipment status is R, you can change both the promised ship date and reserved quantity. If the shipment status is C or X, the line is protected.
Child Line -- Released (You want to decrease inventory.)
If a child line is released and you want to decrease inventory, you can change the promised ship date and reserved quantity in the following manner:
Change Promised Ship Date Only -- If the shipment status is R, you can change to another date within the inventory reservation window. If you change a date that was outside the inventory reservation window to a date inside the window, the system will attempt to reserve inventory. If the shipment status is C or X, the line is protected.
Change Reserved Quantity Only -- If the shipment status is R, you can reduce the reserved quantity. If the shipment status is C or X, the line is protected.
Change Promised Ship Date and Reserved Quantity -- If the shipment status is R, you can change both the promised ship date and reserved quantity. If the shipment status is C or X, the line is protected.
Sales Order Lines Not Maintainable
You cannot maintain some sales order lines on this screen. These lines are protected and identified by a color-highlighted asterisk or field. The following lists the protection reason and the corresponding color designation:
Remote sourced lines that have a purchase order generated - blue asterisk
Bundle components - red asterisk
Configured parts on a configured sales order - pink asterisk
Orders in use - red order number
Order has a hold code that does not allow inventory reservation - red hold code
Lines that have a subsequent release quantity greater than zero - green asterisk
Child releases with a confirmed shipment status (C or X) - red shipment status
In addition, lines that are assigned to a one-time load will be loaded and the reserved quantity will be maintainable, but the promised ship date will be protected and highlighted in pink. If the line is not assigned to a one-time load, but the firm date flag is yes, the promised ship date will be protected.
