Serial Number Assignment Window

In the Serial Number Assignment Window you connect parts being shipped or returned with their serial numbers.  This window can be called three modes:

·     Entry Mode - Used to add serial numbers to parts

·     Change Mode - Used to update or delete serial numbers from parts

·     Inquiry Mode - Used to inquiry upon part/serial number combinations

Entry mode allows you to enter serial numbers for serial-controlled parts on sales order lines and credit memo lines.  Enter either a list of serial numbers or a beginning serial number.  If you enter only a beginning serial number, the subsequent numbers generate automatically.  The Serial Number Assignment Window is called in Entry or Change mode during:

·     Sales Order Shipments

·     Postbilling & Memo Entry

·     RMA Receipt Control

Inquiry mode allows you to view part/serial numbers combinations.  The Serial Number Assignment Window is called in Inquiry mode during:

·     RMA Inquiry

·     Sales Order Inquiry
