Display Cost Option

 

The display cost option enables users to have the part cost displayed on the order line window and on Order Processing reports.

Establishing a Display Cost Option

Each installation can specify via a Reference File parameter whether part cost is to be displayed.

Installations who choose not to display cost cannot enter cost on the order line window.  Instead, the system formats the sales order line item record using the cost specified on the Part Master or Warehouse Balance file.  The cost field on the order line window screen is not shown.

For installations who choose to allow display of part cost, the system- computed cost is displayed on the order line window screen and on reports.

The display cost option is applicable to all Order Processing conversations and reports.

Considerations

Installations may elect not to display cost if cost is confidential, operator entry of cost is not desired, or accounting of period and year-to-date cost is unnecessary.

If cost is not displayed, the system calculated gross margin percent will also not be displayed or printed.
