Bill of Rules Tree Structure

You can request and print a graphical representation of Expert Configurator rules through the Bill of Rules Tree Report Request.  You can request the Bill of Rules Tree for Distribution, Manufacturing, or Pricing Rules.  To request the report, you will specify a releasing rule (parent).  You will also need to specify whether deactivated rules will print on the report.

The Bill of Rules Tree Report Program (EC555E) takes the releasing rule requested and retrieves all the rules in the releasing path using two new logical files (EC100ML8 and EC100ML9).  This program prints a report that takes on the look of a 'tree' in the way that the rules would be planned in the design phase (true rules being released 'up' and false rules released 'down' in the tree).  The full 50-character rule description prints on the report as well.  The tree can be printed up to 15 levels 'deep'.  If the rules exceed 15 levels, a message will be printed at the end of the report.  This message will let the user know that there are more levels to be printed and another request will have to be made.

The report will print the rule number, rule type, rule description, and part number.  This report can be run for each of the rule types¾distribution, pricing, and manufacturing.  The report can be printed immediately or released in off-line processing. You will have the ability to specify the printer location and how you want the report processed.  All requests that are not processed immediately can be viewed through the transaction review conversation for the specified rule type.
