Product Reference
When defining a configured part with manufacturing configuration selected on the Part Master File, a product reference code must be assigned. This code specifies the type of manufacturing configuration that will be executed when manufacturing orders are created for the part. This code will be ignored when requisitions are created for the part.
The specified type of manufacturing configuration determines the method of component requirement and labor requirement generation. Component and labor requirements can be generated through the Expert Configurator or by using standard MAC-PAC methods. Standard MAC-PAC methods generate component and labor requirements from a pre-defined product structure and routing. The Expert Configurator generates component and labor requirements based on user-defined rules. Product Reference Codes and requirement generation methods are:
