Setup for the Expert Configurator
Setup for the Expert Configurator
Several MAC-PAC modules require initial steps before the Expert Configurator will operate properly. Below is a description what is necessary in each module.
Design Engineering
1. Set up the configured part choosing its costing method with the Configuration Code Option
Expert Configurator
1. Identify all the features and options and variations allowed for a product
2. Create tables of valid features and options
3. Create matrices for information retrieval
4. Create sales order entry rules
5. Create pricing rules
6. Create manufacturing rules
7. Create a Configuration Code Template
Order Processing
1. Enter a sales order line or quote order line
2. Enter all options and variations prompted by the user-defined option selection screen for each sales or quote order line
The options validation and the sales/quote order line pricing are automatically performed online. Manufacturing configuration is performed either off-line upon your request or asynchronously after the sales order has been completed. Manufacturing orders and requisitions are created only for sales order lines. Manufacturing configuration will be performed for quote orders only if the quote is converted into a sales order. Exhibit A illustrates these steps.
