Manufacturing Configuration Request

You may need to re-execute the manufacturing rules for a given sales order or manufacturing order due to changes in the bill of material or the promised ship date.  Normally, this would be done by maintaining the sales order.  However, the Manufacturing Configuration Request conversation allows you to request the execution of the manufacturing configuration process without going through the Sales Order Maintenance conversation.  You should note that distribution and pricing rules will not be re-executed.  You may specify general request options for running the manufacturing configuration process such as sales orders, line numbers, job numbers, etc.  In addition, updates to the promised ship date for a sales order line can be performed.

Once the request has been entered, the system updates the sales order line, sales order line options, and any other files necessary to run the manufacturing configuration processes.  There will be no transaction review for this process.  Updates to files are made just as if you had made the changes through Sales Order Maintenance.

This conversation may also assist you if you encounter errors in the manufacturing configuration process by allowing you to change manufacturing rules and resubmit affected manufacturing orders for the configuration process.
