Configured Pricing

When using rules to calculate price for a configured part, specific conventions must be followed.

The unit price calculated within pricing configuration must be calculated in the currency and unit of measure of the sourcing company warehouse.  Therefore, the pricing bill of rules for a part should have different branches for each sourcing company warehouse that a configured part can be ordered from (if the currency and/or unit of measure varies among the different sourcing company warehouses).  This facilitates calculation of prices in the correct currency for each company/warehouse that has a different currency available with it.  In addition, the pricing unit of measure cannot be overridden at order entry time.  The default price unit of measure from the warehouse balance record will always be used.  Pricing configuration takes precedence over all other pricing methods, including manual pricing.  Please note that the Finalized Price rule is used to format the unit price of the sales order line.  This sales order line unit price has eleven significant digits and three decimal places (99999999999.999).  Any numeric results of the expert configurator has eleven significant digits and six decimal places.  Decimal places four, five, and six of the finalized price value will be truncated when formatting the sales order line unit price.  Therefore, rounding must be performed via the Round Up/Round Down operand if truncation is not desired.

When currencies and units of measure differ, this convention necessitates the use of internal variables within pricing rules.  The two internal variables needed are SOURCING COMPANY (I-SLSRCO) and SOURCING WAREHOUSE (I-SLSRWH) from the Sales Order Line Item File.
