Action Codes

 

Rules are defined to perform an action.  The rule action to be performed is identified by an action code. 

The types of rules available in the Expert Configurator are:

·      Condition

·      Start Debug

·      Screen Generation

·      Configuration Component

·      Screen Validation

·      Modify Option

·      Secondary Variable

·      Global Variable

·      Price Detail

·      Finalize Price

·      End Debug

·      Component Requirement

·      Labor Requirement

·      Generate Comment

·      Create Parameter

·      Finalize Date

·      Manufacturing Detail

·      Availability Date

·      Finalize Cost

·      Internal Variable

·      Purchase Part

·      External Program

Each rule type (except a screen generation rule) has three basic definition items: condition expression, and action expressions one and two.  The items are composed of the following:

Identification

System Identifier:          This identifies the rule type to the system.  The system identifier is constant, and not user-defined.

Valid Rule Categories:   The rule categories the rule type can be associated with.  Rule categories are:

·      Sales Order Entry Rules

·      Pricing Rules

·      Manufacturing Rules

Action Expressions 1 and 2

 

Description:

Description of the expression

Expression Type:

Syntax or non-syntax (text or screen).  See Rule Syntax in the Overview of this manual for more information.

Length:

Allowable length of the expression to be entered by the user.

Interpreted Type:

After the syntax expression has been interpreted, the type of the result, either alphanumeric or numeric.  If type is alphanumeric, the expression must be declared within quotes.
