Interfaces with Other Modules
MAC-PAC's EDI module has direct interfaces with several other modules in the system. The interface allows the functionality normally performed in Order Processing or Purchasing to be done electronically. For a more detailed description of each interface, see the EDI Transactions key concept in this manual.
Order Processing Interface
The interface between the EDI and OP modules occurs in several areas:
· Converting inbound purchase orders into sales orders.
· Sending outbound order acknowledgments.
· Sending outbound BOLs.
· Processing Invoices.
Purchasing Interface
The interface between the EDI and PO modules takes place in several instances:
· Sending outbound purchase orders.
· Processing purchase order acknowledgments.
· Processing purchase order receipts.
Electronic Data Collection Interface
The interface between the EDI and BC modules occurs when processing the receipt of a shipment transaction. When a direct distribution shipment is recorded against a sales order, the EDI Receipt Generation program initiates shipment processing against the purchase order's corresponding sales order. This is done through the Electronic Data Collection Router program.
